The Utah Regional FRC Chairman's Award is the most prestigious award at FIRST, it honors the team that best represent a model for other teams to emulate and best embodies the purpose and goals of FIRST. The Chairman's Award is presented to the team judged to have the most significant measurable impact of its partnerships among its participants and community over a sustained period, not just a single build season. The winner is able to demonstrate culture.
Here is what the 2017 judges said about us
"This team started as a grass roots effort with a vision to prepare young people for careers in STEM and a sustainable future. They've built a pipeline of FIRST programs in their community with impressive growth of Jr. FLL, FLL and FTC teams while also recruiting and training mentors for these. Through student-run summer camps that teach a variety of topics, innovative partnering throughout the year with their local community college and community center, and developing a high school level FIRST-based curriculum, their outreach is making a difference. Their volunteerism has also gone beyond academic circles to collaborate with business innovators to help them realize their ideas. Shake their hand, pat them on the back and give them a HI FIVE."
