2018 Chairman's Award Winners - Idaho Regional

The Idaho Regional FRC Chairman's Award is the most prestigious award at FIRST, it honors the team that best represent a model for other teams to emulate and best embodies the purpose and goals of FIRST. The Chairman's Award is presented to the team judged to have the most significant measurable impact of its partnerships among its participants and community over a sustained period, not just a single build season. The winner is able to demonstrate culture.

Here is what the 2018 judges said about us

"This year's regional Chairman's award winner truly embodies the spirit of FIRST through their exemplary outreach accomplishments. With the help of their map, they strategically identify and target where to focus their outreach, with a goal of establishing and maintaining an FLL program at every elementary school in the area. This team is actively starting and mentoring numerous JFLL, FLL and FTC teams to build a pipeline of young professionals that are capable of transforming their community from one that is dependent on agriculture to one that attracts technology. Their commitment to inclusion and mentorship is evident in the time that each member personally invests in mentoring and hosting STEM events year-round. It is our honor to give a Hi Five to a team that is striving to be competitive on the world stage by challenging their limits and inspiring their community."

Here is what the 2017 judges said about us

"This team started as a grass roots effort with a vision to prepare young people for careers in STEM and a sustainable future. They've built a pipeline of FIRST programs in their community with impressive growth of Jr. FLL, FLL and FTC teams while also recruiting and training mentors for these. Through student-run summer camps that teach a variety of topics, innovative partnering throughout the year with their local community college and community center, and developing a high school level FIRST-based curriculum, their outreach is making a difference. Their volunteerism has also gone beyond academic circles to collaborate with business innovators to help them realize their ideas. Shake their hand, pat them on the back and give them a HI FIVE."
